Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the fourth game in the Dragon Age series and a sequel to 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition. The action moves to new locations in the world of Thedas and features the player character named Rook, who is attempting to stop Solas from opening the Veil and loosen malicious gods on the world. You form a party from various races, including some familiar faces from past games. The game is in third person, with action based combat that also allows you to fight tactically.

PROS
Plenty of content and a lengthy main story
Engaging characters
Excellent visuals and music
Good voice acting
Good amount of customization
Choices matter, leading to multiple endings
Good skill progression for both player character and your companions
Plenty to find off the beaten path

CONS
Occasional twitchy controls and camera
Very little carries over from Inquisition
Combat can be repetitive at times

In all, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is another solid entry in the long running franchise. While not perfect, its plusses outweigh any negatives. The story unfolds at a decent pace and the characters are likeable and engaging. Beautiful visuals are accented by a solid musical score and fine voice acting. Well worth the purchase.
