Victrix Pro BFG Quick Time Review (2024 Update)

Pros

  • Excellent amount of customization allowing you to change the controller to suit your needs
  • Comfortable and responsive buttons
  • Longer battery life than dual sense edge
  • Hall effect sticks ensure stick drift issues are minimalized

Cons

  • L2/R2 button locks are in an uncomfortable position
  • When using on PC via USB dongle connection is spotty even when less than a foot from it.

In Summary

The BFG feels very similar to another controller I reviewed a few years ago, the Astro C40. Both came with hardshell cases, controller layout customization, and generally better battery life for the controller. However one of the bigger points for the BFG is the ability to have a more fighting game-styled controller than Astros controller. This is a huge difference for users who love fighting games, but what about everyone else? Honestly its a bit of a hard sell for me for a 180$ USD controller that my fingers felt uncomfortable on most of the time thanks to the odd placement of the trigger lock buttons. Yes it is cheaper than the Dual Sense Edge, but when the original dual sense is already a vast improvement over the older Playstation controllers its a hard sell for me. With that being said if you want a more pro style controller I’d definitely reccommend this over the Edge.

2024 Update: Both myself and my son tried the new version of the BFG (CoD edition) and many of these pros and cons remain the same, but the spotty connection on PC (even after driver updates) makes this controller a step behind most others in the pro controller category. As more companies step into these waters its very hard to recommend the BFG as much was previously reviewed.
