- Excellent new visuals that allow more character animations and more personality for each character.

In Summary
It’s weirdly funny to me that instead of doing a pixel HD2D remake of Dragon Quest VII like the first 3 games in the series they went and made it a fully 3D game instead. However, it’s a vast improvement over the PlayStation 1 original (and on only one Disc!). The story is a slow burn for a while, but is one that is fun and engaging once you start getting teases of whats to come. With the recent deluge of RPGs coming out there’s always a chance this one will go under your radar, but this is Dragon Quest at it’s purest and one that should not be missed, either in 2026 or beyond.
