Holiday 2015
The next installment of the Tomb Raider series was announced with a trailer during the Xbox conference at this year’s E3. We see an uneasy Lara Croft undergoing therapy following the disturbing events of the first game, while simultaneously seeing glimpses of what seems to be her next adventure, including a gigantic cave ready for exploration, and chase highlighted by a blood-thirsty bear.
David Gallagher, Head of Product Development and Western Studios at Square Enix, claims in a press release that in the upcoming game, “multiple locations around the world will be filled with exploration spaces that are some of the most beautifully hostile places on earth and over three times larger than what [they] could achieve before.” Additionally, he confirms the return of Camilla Luddington as Lara Croft, as well as award-winning author Rhianna Pratchett as a “key member of the writing team.”
There was not much information in regard to where the game will be set or when it will be released other than “Holiday 2015.” Hopefully we will hear more details about this game in the near future, but given the success of its predecessor and the trailer we got to see at E3, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix have my attention.
