Fantastic article with a bunch of info and thoughts from Reggie.
This year marked the Nintendo Switch’s first E3, and there was little room for little else on the Nintendo stage. Nintendo presented a pre-recorded “Spotlight,” focusing on Switch games coming out in 2017, touching on Nintendo’s ongoing competitive multiplayer initiatives, and gesturing towards 2018 and beyond.
While this focus on the Switch assured that the console would have a healthy lineup in the near future, it also left a number of questions unanswered. Thankfully, I had the opportunity to sit down with Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aimé to talk at length about Nintendo’s Switch strategy, teasing games still in development, the company’s relationship with third-party publishers, Animal Crossing for phones, fan creations like AM2R, and more.

At E3 2017 Capcom released a story demo for Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite, the latest entry in its crossover fighting game series. This has given fans across the world a very small taste of the new 2v2 fighting system, which is a big departure from what longtime players have come to be used to.
Before E3 and also during it, we talked to associate producer Peter Rosas and producer Michael Evans about the Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite. Below you’ll find the amalgamation of two interviews covering a broad range of subjects, from the thinking behind the new format and the emphasis on approachability to narrative ambitions in Story mode and whether Chun-Li’s odd-looking face can be fixed.

Marvel Games had a big E3 last week. The Insomniac-developed Spider-Man game headlined Sony’s pre-show media briefing, Capcom put its marketing muscle behind Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite in a big way, and Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 was all over not just the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment booth, but the Los Angeles Convention Center itself.
And while those games were the focus at E3, they are by no means the only Marvel titles in the works. Square Enix has an Avengers project in development, Telltale Games is in the midst of its episodic Guardians of the Galaxy series, and then there are free-to-play and mobile offerings like Marvel Future Fight, Marvel Heroes Omega, Marvel Puzzle Quest, Marvel Contest of Champions, and so on.
