Starting Friday, get ready to distribute the proper dosage…of murder. I’m not apologizing for that.
One of the most appealing aspects of Hitman is the ability to take out one-time only Elusive Targets. These baddies are available for only three or seven days, depending on the target’s importance. So far, Gary Busey has been the only seven-day target. However, that timeline is changing now with the 10th Elusive Target, the Pharmacist.
Starting Friday the 16th, assassins will have seven days to head to the Paris fashion show and locate this scary lady. Knowing IO-Interactive, it’s possible that there will be a secondary objective like previous targets. Maybe the Pharmacist is smuggling some Oxycodone or something.
Being that this is the 10th Elusive Target, IO-Interactive has added some special features as a celebration. There is now a companion app for Hitman that will alert you once the targets go live. This app contains a video briefing about the target and other important hints to the target’s location, which can be reviewed as long as the target is in play. The Hitman Companion App is available for free on both iOS and Android platforms.
Finally, this 10th target is important for assassins that love to mix up their clothes. Completing five Elusive Targets–something that I struggle with–will unlock a special suit from Hitman: Absolution. If you are a true assassin and somehow have completed every single Elusive Target, you will find a nice gift once the 10th target is dead. IO is releasing a special suit from Hitman: Blood Money for those that take out 10 Elusive Targets, complete with sweet leather gloves and a striped tie.
The new suits are a great addition to Hitman, because I’m weird and like to mix and match outfits, but it seems unlikely that I will ever unlock the Blood Money suit. In the press release about this unlockable suit, IO-Interactive implied that there wouldn’t be too many more opportunities in the future.
“We want to make sure that the suit rewards you’ll earn through Elusive Targets are prestigious, and that they can be unlocked at a faster rate. But, if you wait too long and miss too many Elusive Targets, you won’t be able to unlock them all.”
The assumption is that the Elusive Targets will end sometime after Hitman’s first season, but I could be reading too much into the quote. It’s better to be safe than sorry, so keep practicing hits and don’t screw up any of the Elusive Targets.
The Pharmacist goes live Friday the 16th at 5:00 p.m. PST.
