I Hate Fairyland is one of the most unique and funny stories I’ve come across in years. It’s Alice in Wonderland meets Rick and Morty, offering a high dosage of adorable with an even higher dosage of R-rated violence. Every issue gets me laughing like a maniac, and it’s the only series to score above a 9.0 on every issue.
Yet while IHF’s primary goal is humor, there’s still an underbelly of character depth and development that elevates the package into much more than what it appears to be on the surface. This comic is smart, god damnit, and I don’t really know how or why but I’m so happy it exists.
Scottie Young is a demented, gross genius.
