Variety is reporting that Justin Kurzel is in talks to direct Assassin’s Creed. Kurzel helmed the upcoming adaptation of Macbeth starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. Fassbender is a producer on the New Regency video game adaptation and is also set to star.
Previously rumors had circulated that Daniel Espinosa (Safe House), and Gareth Evans were considered to direct Assassin’s Creed.
Another Ubisoft video game adaptation, Splinter Cell, recently got a director as well in Doug Liman.
Assassin’s Creed is scheduled for an August 7th, 2015 release date.
