In what could be the biggest news of the young year, JJ Abrams and LucasFilm have finally announced the cast for Star Wars: Episode VII. Announced via starwars.com the cast includes:
John Boyega, who you’ll know from Attack The Block, bruv
Virtual unknown, Daisy Ridley
Adam Driver, who was previously announced
Inside Llewyn Davis’s Oscar Isaac
Andy Serkis, best known for working with Peter Jackson
Domhnall Gleeson, who you’ll recognize from the Harry Potter Series and most recently, About Time
and Max von Sydow
Yes THAT Max von Sydow!
They will be joined by the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.
If Abrams is great at anything, its playing close to the vest. The surprising thing is that most of this actors weren’t mention in the casting rumors, and if they were it was fleeting. Being this is the forst major news for one of geekdom’s biggest franchises its very exciting to finally see who’s going to be in the film. Now, to find out who the newbies will be playing….
