EA Sports has released the final position rankings for Madden 15, and they finished them off with the “enforcers” of the NFL, the strong safeties. These safeties are responsible for helping stop running backs while also providing pass coverage.
Kam Chancellor of the Seattle Seahawks leads the strong safety rankings, making him the fifth Seahawk in the top 5 of a certain position, and the second Seahawk to lead his position. Chancellor was relatively unknown until the Seahawks’ Super Bowl run, but he is now known to almost everyone. The rest of the top 5 strong safeties are listed below.
1) Kam Chancellor (Seattle Seahawks) – 93 Overall
2) Troy Polamalu (Pittsburgh Steelers) – 93 Overall
3) TJ Ward (Denver Broncos) – 91 Overall
4) Eric Berry (Kansas City Chiefs) – 90 Overall
5) Reshad Jones (Miami Dolphins) – 89 Overall
Polamalu is by far the most well-known strong safety in the NFL, but I find it strange that Eric Berry is rated below him. Berry is in the peak of his career, and Polamalu is nearing the end of his.
So, did your favorite strong safety make the list?
Madden 15 will be released August 26.
