Since the start of The New 52, Kyle Higgins has been in charge of Nightwing’s solo series, one of the few writers to remain on a book in The New 52 for this period of time. In April, however, a new creative team will be taking over from Kyle Higgins, capping off his almost three year run on the character. This was revealed in the solicits for April that were released this past Tuesday. It was unclear whether this was just a guest creative team, or if they would be a new creative team on the series. As it turns out, Higgins confirmed that he is in fact departing the series, leaving him with only one book at DC, Batman Beyond 2.0. However, the writer also recently announced his creator owned series C.O.W.L. for Image comics. After doing nothing but writing Batman related books for his entire tenure as a comic book writer, it seems that Higgins is attempting to move on to different in his comic book writing career. This is somewhat unfortunate, as his run on the character has been quite good so far.
