Happy New Year, readers! Here’s hoping 2017 brings us all good things. It being the first week of the new year there are no new game releases, so it’s time to pop in a DVD or Blu-ray disc, or head to your local cineplex. Heading to home video this week is Blair Witch, the sequel to the 1999 film that began much of the found footage genre of horror movies that followed in its wake. Also heading to the small screen are the family friendly comedy Middle School: The Worst Years in My Life and the drama Denial. Hitting theaters this week are Underworld: Blood Wars, the latest in the vampires vs werewolves franchise, the fantasy/drama A Monster Calls, and the historical drama Hidden Figures getting its wide release. Time now for our list and, as always, release dates are subject to change.
