Scalped is Being Developed for TV

That’s right folks! DC is on a roll with developing TV series based on their properties, with one ongoing show (Arrow), three that have filmed pilots (Flash, Hellblazer, and Gotham), and four (well, five now) in development (iZombie, DMZ, Preacher, Hourman). The latest to join their number is Jason Aaron and R.M. Guera’s Vertigo series, Scalped. Fans of the 60 issue series that ran for five years, between 2007 and 2012, are no doubt already excited for this.

But for those of you who aren’t familiar with the series, DC describes it as “an intense crime drama that mixes organized crime with current Native American culture.” It’s hard to put it any better than that, since that’s essentially the gist of Scalped. They also released a more detailed summary, which is as follows:

“Fifteen years ago, Dashiell ‘Dash’ Bad Horse ran away from a life of abject poverty and utter hopelessness on the Prairie Rose Indian Reservation searching for something better,” reads the description of the series first trade paperback collection Indian Country. “Now he’s come back home armed with nothing but a set of nunchucs, a hell-bent-for-leather attitude and one dark secret, to find nothing much has changed on ‘The Rez’ — short of a glimmering new casino, and a once-proud people overcome by drugs and organized crime. Is he here to set things right or just get a piece of the action?”

So, what do you think of Scalped coming to your television screens? We’re interested to hear your thoughts and opinions, so just leave them in the comments below!
