Scientists Have Created Doctor Octopus Arms

Posted March 17, 2014 by Bryan Huth in Nerdy Bits

German engineers have created artificially intelligent arms that are almost identical to Spider-Man’s old nemesis. The arms were created to resemble the movement of an elephant’s trunk. Check ‘em out above.

In addition to AI, the arms also possess muscle memory, giving them the ability to learn and adapt to changing situations. They were created using 3D-printed parts connected by pneumatic artificial muscles.

Now if scientists could just figure out how to irradiate spiders, without killing them or others, we’d be in business

I am currently attending William Paterson for my BA in Communications and Media Production, with a minor in Film Studies. In my off time I enjoy playing a variety of video games, mainly story-driven ones, and playing guitar. My main focus in comics is DC and I am constantly following all of their current and future plans for TV series and movies. I hope to one day join Warner Bros. films and have a part in their future films.
