Nic Pizzolatto, creator of HBO’s True Detective, has revealed more information about season 2 of the popular crime series. Pizzolatto hasn’t exactly given in-depth information about True Detective season 2, but he did reveal that the season would be set in an area of California that wasn’t Los Angeles. Additionally, Pizzolatto revealed that season 2 would feature three lead characters, as opposed to Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s two characters.
Season 2 of True Detective hasn’t been cast yet, but Pizzolatto is excited about the new season.
“The characters are all new, but I’m deeply in love with each of them. We’ve got the entire series broken out with a couple of scripts, and we’ll probably start casting in earnest in the coming months.”
Season 2 of True Detective will be a self-contained story with no plans to feature McConaughey or Harrelson in returning roles.
