With the end of 2014 rapidly approaching, Telltale Games has released the first trailer for Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series.
The trailer finally gives a true look at the upcoming series, based on the HBO show, which is important to note because “fan favorite characters” like Ramsay Snow (really?) will be making appearances in the six-episode series. In addition to the trailer, Telltale released some important information about the series plot and characters.
“Based on the award-winning HBO television drama series, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series tells the story of House Forrester. Caught up in the events of The War of the Five Kings, they are placed in a precarious position where members of the household must do everything they can to prevent the house from meeting its doom.”
Unlike other Telltale games, Game of Thrones will include five playable characters, which will drastically change the way that player decisions affect the game. However, it will be interesting to see how these decisions actually make a difference in the overall plot because the Telltale series will take place between seasons 3 and 5 of the HBO show. Obviously, those plotlines have already been completed, so how much of an impact will the six episodes have?
Episode one “Iron From Ice” will be available soon for the PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and iOS, with additional platforms to be announced.
