TGS ‘Sony Reveals New PS Vita and Vita TV

At last night’s pre-Toyko Game Show press event, Sony announced two rather large pieces of news in the realm of the PS Vita. The first one is a slight redesign that will make the system slimmer (20% thinner and 15% lighter than current models) as well as come in an array of colors other than the white and black versions we are familiar with now.

The bigger piece of this part is that the Vita will finally be getting internal memory (1 gig)  along with an extra hour of batter life and is aimed  more for the “casual consumer”.  It will launch in Japan on October 10th for roughly $190.

The other big, and quite honestly, the bigger announcement is the Vita TV. What this is a sort of Apple TV esque device that allows you to play your Vita, PSP, and PS One classics games on your TV with a dualshock 3 controller. Remote play with PS4 games and dualshock 4 games will come at a later date and the Vita TV will launch at roughly $95 and launch in Japan on November 14th.
