Now that the holiday season is over and after last weeks lack of comics, this week we have the release of some huge comics which include post Godhead Green Lantern, Charles Soule’s new weekly The Wolverines, a new Ant-Man ongoing, plus many more.

Without a shadow of a doubt this series has become a phenomenon. Never before has a digital comic, let alone a video game prequel comic, been so successful and well received. This has truly been down to the excellent talents of Tom Taylor. So when it was announced he was leaving the series I was truly saddened, that was until I found out who was taking over the book. Don’t worry guys, we are in safe hands! With Buccellato continuing Taylors plan for the rest of Year 3, we shouldn’t see much difference in status quo of the characters but I am really looking forward to what Buccellato can bring to this series. This is a series I highly recommend to people a lot of the time, here’s hoping my recommendation will continue!

MARVEL

The book that apparently everyone has been asking for is here. There has been very little hype surrounding this book, other than when it first got announced, and everyone was like “erm, why?!”. Anyway, since that announcement it’s all been rather quiet. Issue 1 kicks off this week, and with Ryan North on words this should be a pretty perfect fit based on his most notable work on the Adventure Time comics. SG is one of the more light hearted characters in the Marvel Universe, so expect laughs galore, I hope.

I am loving this series and it really is a call-back to a lot of the adventure movies I used to watch as a kid. The creative team on this book is doing a flawless job letting the reader enter into two superb narratives that are as engrossing as each other. Though the idea of the series may seem familiar, I assure you this book is taking this genre and completely rewriting the rules. This series so far has had everything from action, mystery, laughter, and pure fun adventure. What can we expect from this issue? Well the family is on the run from the police, and I am assuming we will learn a bit more about the adventureland place thing. Go pick it up people!

Which books are you looking forward to this Wednesday, let us know in the comments……
