Gears of War 3 took everything I loved about the series and made it better. The campaign connected with me on an emotional level that pretty much no other game had before. Four-player co-op made the experience even better. It’s an uncommon feature in video games and becoming more rare even today. The multiplayer was a near-flawless mix of fun and frustration. I have yet to find a game that genuinely makes my adrenaline pump like Gears of War 3. Campaign and PvP alone would put this game at the top of my list but, then there’s Horde mode. A co-op multiplayer mode that revolutionized PvE in the shooter genre, where you and your friends fought off waves of enemies.

All of these things combined made Gears of War 3 my choice for the best Xbox 360 game and my personal favorite game of all time!

There’s not much I can say about Mass Effect 2 that hasn’t been said. The story, gameplay, and visuals were all excellent and took storytelling to a whole new level. The feelings you see conveyed by the characters resonate on such an intimate level it makes you feel like you are there with them. There was no better game (and I love Ghostbusters more than almost anything) for the Xbox 360 than Mass Effect 2.

Would you kindly throw on a pair of headphones, turn off the lights, and fire up BioShock tonight? What a beautiful collision of art design, storytelling, gameplay, setting, characters, and innovation. Even now, nine years removed from it’s original release on Xbox 360, the mere thought of a Big Daddy freezes me in place. Think about it for a moment, will you? Your mind’s ears are filled with the deep, ominous moan and the steady, pounding march of the hulking protector. One wrong move and the lights shining from inside his diver’s suit turn blood red. He attacks you with ferocious speed and power. Holy crap! Gaming’s greatest bad guy just smashed you against the wall and impaled your gut with a giant arm drill!

Yes, BioShock is the best game on Xbox 360. And as gamers, we are all better for having it in our lives.
