Showing his complete understanding of the Gregorian calendar and noting that February is drawing to a close, Major Nelson has announced a new set of free games for Xbox Live Gold members starting March 1, 2016. Remember! All Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles will be available on Xbox One through Backward Compatibility.
Xbox One
Xbox Live Gold members can download Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishment for free during the month of March. Lords of the Fallen, heralded as “more than a Souls clone,” by our very own John Clark, will be available as a free download from March 16th to April 15th.
Xbox 360
Starting March 1, Supreme Commander 2 will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through March 15th. Then, something marvelous happens on March 16th. Xbox Live Gold Members can (and should) download Borderlands for free through March 31st. The big takeaway here, boys and girls, is that co-op and multiplayer works across Xbox One Backward Compatibility and Xbox 360 consoles. It’s like magic, mostly because Phil Spencer won’t tell us how he did it.
