As a young man, I was addicted to PopCap’s Mummy Maze. You move then the mummy moves. Everything you do has a reaction throughout the map. Hitman GO the hit mobile game is like Mummy Maze on crack. And it works well on PS4 but even better on Vita. Having only played Hitman: Absolution before and enjoyed it I had zero expectation for Hitman GO., and now it’s all I want to play. Built as if it were a school diorama Hitman GO is a smart and addictive game that repeatedly kicks my ass and I just kept returning for more.
Built on the same structure of most mobile games. a small map to traverse and three objectives to finish that gets you further and further into each map. Hitman GO moves from understandably complex to drooling levels of insane if you don’t pay attention. Biding your time and finding disguises, this mobile game finds ingenious ways to incorporate the original Hitman games into each map in a fun and interesting way. each movement on the map has a meaning, and if you mess up, you might as well start over. and while this all sounds torturous and evil it moves along quick enough for me never to get too angry or annoyed. Puzzle games are not my thing, but the fast paced nature of Hitman Go kept me entertained for hours already.

The Definitive Edition adds similar looking levels from previous games to success honestly; I was just happy to have more levels to bounce through. The only downside to the game is its visuals. the aesthetic works great. A clean board game quality fits with the style that Hitman has always had but up close and personal it all looks very bland. and that’s to be understood coming from a mobile game. I’m just saying it doesn’t look good on a Big screen TV. even at a far away distance sometimes. And if I were to get even more nitpicky I would say that the camera angles don’t always fit the controls. moving one way occasionally moves you in the wrong direction. and since this game relies on precision it becomes an annoyance more than twice.
Your goal of each map is to reach the end of the map having done various objectives. either gather a briefcase or killing everyone on screen to name a few. The variety of enemies in this game is impressive and fun to coordinate your gameplay all throughout the map. From the yellow shirts running back and fourth and K9 units chasing you from a further distance than the rest. It keeps you on your toes every few maps or so. And if you’re not on the hunt for a platinum trophy you can always use the hints to get you through each map.
There isn’t a whole lot too Hitman Go and that is why it’s so enjoyable and addictive. It’s simple I don’t have to worry about weather the galaxy is going to explode or an army will invade a certain city it’s just me trying to out think the game developers who made this insane board game. With a confident art style and solid puzzles to make you think Hitman Go is one game you can simply play without having to overthink the non-serialized nature of it all. Just like it was on mobile devices Hitman GO is a great game and an even better time killer. with a few more levels and cross buy functionality this game is best on Vita but works just as well on PS4
