Halo: The Master Chief Collection, possibly the most anticipated Xbox One exclusive of this year, is ready to ship. The game will hit its targeted release of November 11th in the United States, and Belgium, France, and Japan will see the release between November 12th and November 14th. Meanwhile, in most other territories where release was originally planned for the 14th, the game will now be released on the 11th, to line up with its North American release.
In addition to the release news, Dan Ayoub, the studio head at 343 Industries also announced the size of the game. Halo: The Master Chief Collection will take up almost the entirely of the 45 GB available on a blu-ray disk, in addition to a whopping 20 GB update coming on Day 1. Ayoub said the following after this announcement:
Yes, the update is large, but we weren’t about to cut corners to save disc space.
So that’s quite telling about the time 343 has put into making this game excellent. Fortunately, this 20 GB update won’t prevent you from playing the game – the campaign can be played while the update is downloading/installing.
Oh, and if fans need something to complain about, the ten episodes of Spartan Ops won’t be released until December of this year. But let’s be realistic: there’s no way that’s enough time to get through all the content provided by Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 – now in full HD.
The game will be available for release in 26 days. Get hyped.
