Taking place across various retail and domestic environments, Hypercharge Unboxed is reminiscent of the old Army Men games. It features a full length campaign as well as a co-op multiplayer mode. Each stage of the campaign is preceeded by a comic book style cut scene. The game mixes shooting waves of enemies and building defenses.
PROS
Variety of environments
Fair amount of weapons
Different types of defenses to choose from
Comic book style cut scenes entertaining
Multiple modes of play to choose
CONS
Some awkward controls
Defense building limited
Repetitive
Digital Cybercherries delivers a game that will surely instill a sense of nostalgia in some players. The multiplayer is best played with friends, and the solo campaign is a decent length, though it can get very repetitive. Some controls can feel a little awkward, and while you can find a variety of defenses to build, the area in which you can build is limited. Worth a look for those who enjoyed the old Army Men games.
