John’s 50 Favorite Games of All Time (20-11)

Behold! I have been tasked with creating a list of my 50 favorite games of all time.

Now, you should know that these are not the highest rated games. Instead, I have chosen the 50 games that have meant a lot to me for various reasons. You will probably have some issues with my choices (I will admit I chose some weird games), but that’s why they are mine. Trust me, I have my reasons for choosing these games.

With that in mind, let’s get this show on the road!

20) Far Cry 3

FarCry3

No game was more surprising to me than Far Cry 3. The exploration and multiple options for murder kept me entertained for far too long.

19) Dishonored

I couldn’t get enough of exploring the crazy world, and I appreciated the freedom to mold Corvo into whatever I saw fit—which happened to be a maniac.

18) Burnout Revenge

Not many games take pleasure in destroying cars like Burnout Revenge does. It had a full mode dedicated to causing as big of a wreck as possible, and you could use a Carl’s Jr. (or Hardee’s) truck as your wrecking ball.

17) Batman: Arkham Asylum

BATMAN-ARKHAM-ASYLUM-PS3

The best superhero game (in my opinion) ever created, if you forget about the final boss battle.

16) Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

I loved cruising around Vice City on a motorcycle—for the first time ever—while listening to 80’s hair metal. Plus, PC players could download a full city conversion that turned Vice City into 2 Fast 2 Furious!!! Who wouldn’t want to do that?

15) Goldeneye

I spent the entirety of the fifth and sixth grades playing Goldeneye with my friends. Dual wielding assault rifles was the only method for success.

14) Hitman Blood Money

HitmanBloodMoney

Blood Money is my favorite Hitman game, based solely on the fact that I can dress up like Santa Claus while murdering horrible people. Dressing up like a bird was also pretty great.

13) Blur

Blur

Blur is grown up Mario Kart, plain and simple. You can destroy a Ford Focus with a rat rod Volkswagen Beetle.

12) Unreal Tournament

UnrealTournament

Facing Worlds (or Face) is one of the most iconic multiplayer levels ever, and the Redeemer is the best video game gun every made. Screw the BFG.

11) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Modern Warfare had the best campaign of any Call of Duty, and the persistent leveling up made Multiplayer even more addicting.
