At the Cup O’ Joe panel at Comic Con Marvel pulled the curtain back on three new Star Wars comics coming. Star Wars, Star Wars: Darth Vader and Star Wars: Princess Leia. All three will take place after the events of Episode IV: A New Hope.
The flagship title Star Wars will follow our heroes after the events of Episode IV as the attempt to build on their victory in the battle of Yavin. It will be written by Jason Aaron (Original Sin, Thor: God of Thunder) and drawn by John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men) and is slated for release in January 2015.
Darth Vader will explore Vaders path to redemption after the Death Stars destruction. He will attempt to restore his status as the most feared being in the galaxy. Star Wars: Darth Vader, out February 2015, will be written by Kieron Gillen (Young Avengers, Uncanny X-Men) with interior art by Salvador Larroca (X-Men) and covers by Adi Granov (X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man).
The final new comic Star Wars: Princess Leia will be written by Mark Waid (Daredevil, Kingdom Come) and drawn by Terry Dodson (Wonder Woman, Uncanny X-Men) and will release in March 2015. Unlike the other two that will be full series, Leia will be a five part mini-series. It will explore Leia taking over leadership of the rebellion and dealing with the destruction of her home world.
