Quick Time Review: Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom

  • Very cute and pretty
  • Fun gameplay loop once done with tutorials
  • Mostly likeable characters
  • Serviceable story

  • Very slow beginning
  • Main character (Noby) can be annoying

This is very much a typical farm sim game with the main difference being a Doraemon story. You play a named character instead of a create a character and Doraemon’s gadgets open up some slightly different ways to play and things to do. The game looks beautiful like it’s right out of a storybook. Noby, the character you play as can get grating at times with his whining but is overall fine. The prologue also seems to move at a snail’s pace, especially if you’ve played these types of games before due to an insane amount of tutorials. You can technically skip through these, but then you risk missing some story. Once all the tutorials are out of the way, however, the gameplay becomes very addictive and fun. If you like farming sims and Doraemon, you’ll like this game. If you don’t like farming sims, this won’t change your mind.
