Pros
- The level of customization for mechs is INSANE!
- Having a dedicated single player/story campagain helps add value.
- Gameplay feels great.
Cons
- The game can be very intimidating to newcomers and a lack of a tutorial mode hurts.
- Online games are hard to find.
- Certain missions can feel dull and repetitive.
In Summary
I love mech combat games and Mechwarrior was one of the fathers of the genre and this iteration in the series is in the top tier. There is so much to customize on each mech and is mouth-watering when seeing it time and time again and having gameplay to back it up is amazing. However, a dedicated tutorial to go more in-depth with how things work and some of the nuance the game provides can hurt first-timers trying to get in for a quick match or enjoy the game to its fullest. I highly recommend picking up this game If you love mech games, but for anyone else, this may be worth checking out the base game for 30$ and if you like it grabbing the DLC later.
