Pros
- Hunts are fast, fun, intense, and fluid.
- Levels retain your previously constructed items, allowing for a sense of customization to permeate the game.
- Weapon skill tree skills allowing for perk carry over allows additional levels of customization to cater to your play style.
- Co-op play is seamless and makes battles that much more layered.
Cons
- Missions sometimes feel like they force you to play co-op rather than solo.
- Weapon variety isn’t as vast as in other games.
- Story is bland and feels paint by numbers.
In Summary
Wild Hearts is a game that mimics a lot of what Monster Hunter does and improves on so many of them. No weapon sharpening, degrading, or stamina, and adding a level of crafting ala games like Minecraft and Fortnite makes this game so much fun and one I want to play more than Monster Hunter (which I’ve been obsessed with for years). That being said, it feels like the game is built more for co-op than single-player fans, and the weapon variety is lacking when comparing it to Capcoms series kudos to Koei Tecmo and EA for providing a refreshing and utterly fun game that keeps me coming back for more.
