Tekken 8 is the eleventh title in the long runnning franchise that began in 1994. The game’s story continues from the events in Tekken 7, and newcomers can view a recap of the first seven numbered games to bring them up to speed. The game is made up of both solo and multiplayer modes, with the main story mode being the highlight. Online works smoothly, and players seem to be matched with those whose skill level is close to their own. The game has a cast of 30 characters at launch.

PROS
Excellent story campaign
Great visuals, music
Good controls
Plenty of accessibility options for players of all skill levels
Nice recap for Tekken 1-7 to bring newcomers up to speed and serve as a refresher for vets
Plenty of content for both solo and competitive players
30 characters available at launch
CONS
Final fight in story mode goes on a bit too long
No photo mode

Tekken 8 is an excellent addition to the long running fighting game series. The story mode is well written and of a nice length (10-12 hours over 15 chapters). There are plenty of modes to occupy solo and competitive players, with a good roster of 30 characters to choose from at launch. There’s a mid-credits cut scene in the story mode that’s worth catching. Well worth your time and money.
