While not my thing, We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie has its charms. For those who have fond memories of the PS2 title, this game is going to be very enjoyable. Others, however, might find it very repetitive and even frustrating. The controls are simple, but the camera doesn’t always give you the best view. Focusing on the main stages may take players around 4-5 hours to complete. Those looking to find everything the game has to offer may get 20 0r more hours of gameplay. The game is all about rolling things up in a giant ball within a time limit in various environments, ranging from a child’s bedroom to a level underwater.

PROS

Very colorful though simplistic art style

Some silly humor

Strategy needed to find best paths to make your katamari

Various stages

Pleasant music

CONS

Camera not always helpful

Repetitive

Humor can wear thin

Some technical issues

In the end, We Love Katamari will not be for everyone. For those looking for a simple yet at times challenging game, this might be one to try. Others may tire of the repetition and silly humor that wears out it’s welcome in a hurry. It’s colorful and kid friendly, so it may be worth trying for little ones in the household.
