Here is part 2 of our Most Anticipated of 2014.

#1 – Uncharted for PS4
Okay, I know this is a bit of a stretch, Uncharted 4 – or whatever it’s called – doesn’t have a release date yet. But there is a chance it’ll be released in 2014, and with that in mind, there’s no way I could make a list and not have Uncharted on it. It was my favorite franchise throughout the last generation. What is the main reason to be excited for this? Well, it’ll be like someone just took off the leash of a very Naughty Dog. I don’t remember when was the last time I played a bad Naughty Dog game, actually I don’t think I’ve played a bad Naughty Dog game at all. From Crash to The Last of Us, they just pump out good games, one after the other. Hell, The Last of Us even took the throne as my favorite game ever. Their games are fun, well written, beautiful and thrilling. And now they have the PS4, this powerful machine that has been receiving nothing but praise from game developers with its 8GB of RAM and intuitive architecture, meaning they don’t have limits to worry about anymore, they can make the game they want. I can’t tell you any specific reason to be excited about Uncharted 4, since we only have a short teaser for it, but I can tell that: In Naughty Dog We Trust.
#2 – Destiny
I often talk to friends of mine how the seeds of the next generation were actually planted in that game company’s masterpiece Journey. Think about it, in Journey we have random encounters with other players online in the middle of a very big open area. Now think about some of the upcoming games like The Crew, Watch_Dogs and Destiny. Then you can see how they are similar in that aspect. But Destiny has something special about it. It feels like the most appropriate game to have such a feature, after all, we’re exploring everything from a post-apocalyptic Earth to the Moon, Mars and Titan. It’s a gigantic open world game with dynamic online encounters, a loot of customization and loot, and a nice mix of sci-fi and magic. Destiny has the potential to have very unique moments in which players will experience something awesome thanks to the multiplayer interactions and vast exploration, things we’ll want to tell all our friends about, or record it and upload to YouTube. I think that a game in which you can develop your character and have dynamic encounters with other players playing online, in order to build a richer atmosphere is the way to go from now on, and from all I’ve seen, Destiny is doing it best.
#3 – inFamous: Second Son
There are two things that need to be said about inFamous: Second Son. The first is really straightforward: The game is beautiful. From superb photorealistic graphics, to beautiful lightning, to very natural animations thanks to the motion capture, this game is a sight for sore eyes. The second requires a little bit more explaining, and that is: inFamous: Second Son is evolution. Take all that the other inFamous games have: A very rich and detailed city (mirroring a real life city) to use as an open world playground. In Second Son, we have an actual real city with Seattle, with more areas to explore, ranging from forests and parks to buildings and clubs, and on top of all that, the environment is dynamic, with destructive elements. The previous games also had very fleshed out characters, with the use of comic book style cut scenes to better showcase their interactions. Now, developer Sucker Punch has taken the next step in order to make the characters more real, adding motion capture to the mix, and even better, they have all-star voice actor Troy Bake to play the main character, who’s a young, kind of cocky rebel that, in contrast to Cole from the previous games, actually loves the powers. Speaking of powers? How cool are they now? Smoke and neon are the ones revealed so far, and the great thing about them is that they allow the player to travel across the map in very different, interesting ways. They are much more flexible and unique than Cole’s electric, ice and firepower, influencing the way you play to a new level of detail.
#4 – The Order: 1886
This is a tricky one. There’s not a ton of information about The Order: 1886, but I’m going with my gut. From the looks of it, this will be an action third person shooter set in Victorian London with futuristic weapons and some kind of monster, which pretty much means the concept is awesome. If developer Ready at Dawn wraps all of that under a rich, living world and an interesting story, The Order: 1886 will most definitely be a breath of fresh air into the lungs of third-person action shooters in this day and age, a genre that has been suffering a lot lately. Besides, judging from a few leaked, in-engine, screenshots, The Order: 1886 will be absolutely beautiful, perhaps one of the most beautiful of the next-gen games. It’s a gamble, but I think this will turn up to be a very cool, dark, pretty and fun game.
#5 – Titanfall
I’ve said it before, but Titanfall is exactly what I think Call of Duty would be if the game actually dared to evolve beyond new customization methods and deadlier kill streaks. Don’t worry, I’m not going to go on a rant about CoD, but I think the fact that Respawn Entertainment, also known as the old Infinity Ward who made the spectacular Modern Warfare 2 and the fantastic Call of Duty 4, is developing Titanfall, will definitely make comparisons inevitable. The thing is, Titanfall just looks fun. I could go on about how interesting the way they’re adding narrative to the multiplayer matches or how important 60fps is to a game like this, but let’s get to the meat of it. Every time you watch a Titanfall gameplay video, you’ll come away thinking: I want to play that. There’s so much going on at the same time, from players pursuing each other in the rooftops thanks to the jetpack plus parkour combination, to mega ships dropping mechs to the battlefield. The last part is the most important, mech games are usually very clumsy and slow, if Titanfall nails the combat between mechs, it will add another layer to the battle, making the gameplay that much more interesting.

1) Division
Did you see this game demo? Oh no? Well, you have been missing out on something incredible. This was the best looking game at E3, no doubt. This MMO/Shooter has grabbed the most attention by me, since it’s reveal. The components of multiplayer and Tablet integration has got this gamer ecstatic for it. I have no idea if the story is going to be great, but I really don’t care right now. It’s truly my most anticipated.
2) Dragon Age: Inquisition
Baldur’s Gate, Mass Effect, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Dragon Age are all games that BioWare has blessed us with over the years. This installment shouldn’t let us down either. This action RPG is going to be the cream of the crop, in my opinion. The return of previous characters has every fan boy of the series happy as a clam. Graphically speaking, this game looks like none can compare. I’m giddy just thinking about it.
3) Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
CD Projeckt RED gave us one of the most underrated games in 2012 with Witcher 2 and I can’t wait to get my hands on Wild Hunt. This game is going to be open world to! The fact that it’s only releasing on next gen consoles makes me even more excited for this game. It will be the end of Geralt’s story and I can only believe they will give him an epic farewell.
4) Destiny
Bungie is kind of like Christopher Nolan. Fans of his are going to keep coming to his movies until they are let down. That’s the same story here. I trust Bungie, a lot. If they tell me that this game is never ending and they’ve worked on it for 8 years, then I am right there believing them. This game seems to be an MMO/Shooter that is large in scale and meant for multiplayer. I can’t wait.
5) The Order: 1886
The Ready At Dawn studio blew us away with their very cryptic trailer at E3 this year. Since then, we’ve seen very little. I think that I am most excited because what I have seen is incredible and I trust this studio. Everything that we’ve seen, has been said to be “in game.” That just gets me incredibly excited for this new IP in 2014.
This list is just some of our games and we would love to hear yours. Let us know at the bottom!
